Perstorp is world-leading within areas at specialized chemical markets. Our products are sold to companies in paint, chemicals and plastic-based industries. They also include products for the engineering and construction industries, such as polyols, performance chemicals and resins. We create winning formulas within selected niches of organic and polymer chemistry, that offer much more than innovative chemical solutions.

Celebrating the International Year of Chemistry

United Nations has declared 2011 The International Year of Chemistry. We are happy to join in the festivities, as we feel passionate about the goals.

UN's goals for IYC 2011 are to increase the public appreciation of chemistry in meeting world needs, to encourage interest in chemistry among young people, and to generate enthusiasm for the creative future of chemistry. We will use this website - among other channels - to spread the word about molecules in general, and Perstorp's molecules in particular.

We make good products better
Perstorp participates in many different industry segments. We usually say that we make good products even better by adding different desired characteristics to them. Coatings, foams, synthetic lubricants, adhesives, plastics, fuels, feed, food and formalin are just a few examples.

We focus on sustainability
Sustainability - which is UN's overall theme for the decade - is our primary focus, and we express it in many different ways:
• By replacing hazardous substances, such as freon in air-conditioning equipment or lead in PVC
• By providing products made of renewable raw materials
• By reducing products' carbon footprint

We can honestly say that almost all the products we have launched in the past decade have replaced less environmentally sound ones.

Activities all year through
This is a dynamic website. During The International Year of Chemistry we will publish new material regularly related to the monthly themes. We will arrange quizzes and other activities, publish articles that present chemistry from different angels, and try to straighten out a few misconceptions along the way.
Enjoy! And hope you learn something new.
